ubuyez.com complaint by Dhart12
I was completely ripped off when i purchased an awesome auger the website - ubuyez.com. i have seen many items on this site that offer you free items that you only pay s&h on. what they dont tell you is that the s&h is more than the item itself. i was only given a subtotal before i had to enter credit card info. When you hit submitt is when you get nailed for the s&h costs that are outrageous. This site or any site like it should be illegal. I had to call my credit card co to get the charges reversed
AWESOME AUGER complaint
In September, we ordered the AWESOME AUGER from an advertisement on TV 800-714-8085. This item was supposed to cost $19.95 and consisted of the AUGER, EXTENDER and a "FREE DRILL." We ordered this item because my husband has had severe back problems and wears a pain patch since 2001. This was supposed to alleviate the need for him to bend over while he was gardening, which he loves to do. We ordered in the middle of September and received the package on December 4th. When ordering, the tape first has Billy Mayes (he is the one who does the TV advertisement)talking and then you are transferred to a female for the actual ordering. At no time is there a live person to talk to. The female speaks very fast and at no time does she mention the cost for shipping and handling. I expected to pay S&H of about $10.00. No one in their right mind would pay $36.85 S&H for a &19.95 purchase. I still have my RIGHT mind.
When we opened the box, the invoice inside was for $58.60, $19.95 S&H for the "FREE DRILL", $7.95 S&H for the AUGER and another &7.95 for the EXTENDER. When I called about the invoice (which was a toll call), I was told there was nothing I could do. We are on a fixed income and cannot afford to pay almost $60.00 for a supposedly $19.95 item. I expect these people are taking advantage of senior citizens due to the fact they advertise "gardening made easier." If you cannot help me, I would like to know where I can turn to for some results. Once again, there was never any mention of $36.85 being charged for S&H.
